Chuck is a structural engineer with 38 years of professional experience. He is a principal at PND and vice president in charge of the structural design section. His projects have encompassed steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures and their foundations throughout Alaska. These have ranged from educational, recreation, community, and multipurpose facilities to office buildings, retail establishments, and a variety of industrial developments with construction budgets of up to $50 million. Most projects in Alaska entailed seismic design and analysis; Chuck's master's thesis was devoted to seismic analysis of building structures. He has received national awards from the Lincoln Arc Welding Association for innovative welded steel structures. He is skilled in computer-aided structural analysis techniques and utilizes the latest modeling and analysis software.
