PND provides a wide range of engineering and planning services to market sectors that encompass cold regions; commercial and building structures; government; ports and harbors; resource development; and transportation.
Cold Regions: Working in cold regions such as Alaska, Russia, and the Arctic requires more than traditional engineering skills. The staff at PND utilize their extensive knowledge of specialized areas of engineering to provide services in these Arctic and sub-Arctic regions.
Commercial & Building Structures: Our structural engineers offer comprehensive services to owners and architects on a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. Many of our projects are in remote locations where the construction of those facilities requires unique design and construction approaches.
Government: PND provides engineering services to federal, state, and local government agencies. Projects range from indefinite delivery- indefinite quantity contracts for agencies such as the U.S. Coast Guard and state transportation departments to providing assistance to small local communities.
Ports and Harbors: Our services to port and harbor facilities include the cruise industry and shipping terminals, as well as all aspects of marina design. PND engineers use their in-depth knowledge of the severe loading unique to Northwest and coastal locations to design effective foundation systems.
Resource Development: PND assists both governmental organizations and private entities in constructing the necessary infrastructure to support resource development in North America and overseas. This development includes oil and gas, forestry, fishing, and mining in some of the most challenging areas of the Northwest.
Transportation: Our engineers have designed nearly 350 bridges and over 800 miles of roads, and have successfully completed projects for trails and railroad systems throughout the United States. We also provide aviation services, including airport design for urban and remote locations in Alaska and beyond.
