PND has been responsible for the design of over 800 miles of roads with a majority of them categorized as low volume rural/forest roads. These roads have been constructed in some the most challenging and environmentally sensitive areas of the United States, including Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.
An example of PND’s unique design experience is the $45 million Delong Mountain Road Transportation System constructed by Cominco, Alaska. PND was responsible for the design of 50 miles of new road, 10 bridges, 12 major culvert batteries, over 400 cross-drainage culverts, material source access roads, and material source mining plans. During the past four years, PND has been responsible for over 28 forest road design projects totaling over $6 million in construction for the USDA Forest Service, Region 6.
